Beach Plogging the North Sea Coast
The latest Swedish fitness trend plogging - jogging while picking up trash - now has a Dutch beach edition. Like always, we will keep the energy up but chill enough to keep up and stay cool. Use a trash picker or go for the full squad when you pick up trash that washed on the beach, mostly being plastic.
Friday 17 August at 15:00 at Beach Pavilion De Zeemeeuw in Noordwijk. It's about a 50 min ride by public transport from Schiphol. Try to be on time, so we can start as soon as possible with early Friday drinks to refresh ourselves after all the good work 💪🏼
Besides bringing your sporty pants, you might want to bring or wear some beach clothes and a towel to go for that dive after. It's probably going to be hot ☀️!
More than 5 trillion plastic pieces weighing over 250,000 tons are afloat at sea. The majority of the plastic sinks or remains in the one of the five massive patches in the ocean, however a significant percentage of it washes onto our coastlines daily. Animals often mistake it for food or it flushes back in the sea. Let's get active and clean up the beach!
